Our Teachers



MANDY ELLEN

Mandy is the Principal of the dance school as well as being a full time mum!! She is a qualified dance teacher with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance as well as the International Dance Teachers Association. She is also a fully qualified aerobics, step, body pump, body balance and aqua teacher, and enjoys teaching keep fit in her spare time!! She enjoys teaching a range of dance styles and choreographing competition dances and show pieces. Having taken many dance exams throughout her career, Mandy has decided to take it one step further and is currently training to become an examiner with the International Dance Teachers Association. She is very proud and pleased to having trained students who now work along side her as teachers, which allows further expansion of her successful dance school. Her last main ambition is her Dance College, which she hopes to start in September 2005, which will allow dancers to pursue a career in dance without having to travel to London to train!!
LORNA THOMAS
Lorna has been with Mandy for over 5 years and is looking forward to attending her full time performing arts college in September.
Lorna's wanting to become a professional dancer and hopes to be on a west end stage one day with Mandy's help.
Having successfully taken her student freestyle associate Lorna is going to complete her other associates at college.
Lorna currently teaches the Salsa and Jive courses and helps out with Tap, Ballet and Freestyle when needed.
CHANTELLE FINCH
Chantelle began her dance tuition at the age of four focusing primarily on the Ballet, before expanding her repetoir to include disco. Eventually Chantelle began to travel around England entering competitions with her sister.
Chantelle continued dancing when she went into full time education. She completed her training, gaining qualifications in Musical Theatre Diploma and RSA Exercise to music. After completion of her education Chantelle went on to secure a position at Disneyland Resort Paris where she danced in the parades and side shows. Chantelle then performed on cruise ships. She has also performed in a professional panto in the South East and also a dancer for a tribute act.
Chantelle has also had the opportunity of continuing her education in fitness by becoming a qualified instructer in Step, Circuit and Pilates classes.
Chantelle has been with mandy since September 2007 and has already taken her Freestyle teachers exam
EMMA FINCH
Emma started dancing at the Mandy Ellen School of Dance over eighteen months ago, focusing her teaching skills on ballet, tap and modern and is pleased to have joined the Mandy Ellen team as head of modern.
Emma has been dancing since she was three, and during her career has performed on cruise ships, and specialised in caberet performance. Emma has appeared at the Royal Albert Hall in a variety of performances including pantomime and various dancing roles in the West End.
Emma is working towards her licentiate examinations and is hoping to further her career by becoming an IDTA examiner.
HARRY SHORT
Harry is currently studying at the Mandy Ellen Performing Arts College and has been teaching for nearly a year.
Harry has set up the Junior Boys Hip Hop crew and the Senior Boys Hip Hop Crew called Genefixx.
Even though the crew have only been established for less than a year, they have already won third place in their first competition.
JADE DOIG
Jade is currently studying at the Mandy Ellen Performing Arts College and is determined to pursue a career within the Musical Theatre Industry. Jade has already gained a BTEC in Music and Performing Arts, Associates in Theatre Craft, Freestyle, Cheerleading and Ballet
VICKY FERN MARTIN
Vicky is a qualified teacher in tap, ballet, Modern, Drama and Freestyle. Since leaving College she has also gained her Freestyle licentiate and hopes to continue her training with the IDTA.
She has gained much experience dancing professional in such shows as 'Little Shop of Horrors', '42nd Street' and 'Godspell'.
Vicky teaches in many local schools and joined Mandy's school in December 2006 and look's forward to many more exiting years teaching at the School.
HEATHER BRODERICK
Heather has been teaching at the Mandy Ellen School of Performing Arts since September 2007. Following her degree in Manchester, Heather returned to Kent to complete her Vocal training. It is from here that Heather plans to launch a successful career within the performing industry.
ALISON STAUNTON
Alison joined Mandy in September 2006 as the Contemporary dance teacher after completing her Dance Degree at university.
