Class Descriptions



Disco / Street Jazz (Junior / Senior)

Primarily a fun class learning the latest moves to the latest sounds, but also offering the chance to regularly participate in exam sessions and show performances. An ideal class for any age child with differing types of experience.

Cheerleading (Junior / Senior)

A chance to learn some new skills including Cheer Technique, Stunt work, Pomm and Cheer Dance with exam and Competition work also included

Musical Theatre (Junior / Senior)

For those aspiring to a West End career a class where you can learn singing, drama and physical performance with opportunities for exam and Show work also included

Theatre Craft (Junior / Senior)

Structured classes for those budding young dancers who wish to make it to the West End. Classes include centre practice, bar exercise and a rhythm section. Performance based

Adult Dance

A fun class learning different dance routines also providing excellent exercise and is for all different levels of dancing experience.

Intermediate

A class with the same principles as Disco but for students of a slightly higher standard than senior level.

Advanced

A class with the same principles as Disco but for the more advanced student with challenging dances being taught.

Ballet (Junior / Senior)

Learn the beautiful and classical art form that focuses on technique and exam work. A class that is very good for developing as a dancer and is also suitable for a range of ages.

Tap (Junior / Senior)

Focuses on syllabus work that allows students to progress through the tap grades by taking examinations, performance work is also included.

Pointe Work

A class that increases in difficulty due to the nature and complexity of dancing on Pointe. It is necessary that any pupil wishing to participate in a Pointe Work class has some ballet experience.

Pre-School

A class for the under 5s that focuses on fun whilst also teaching the basic steps in both ballet and disco.

Singing Classes

Private and Group lessons are available with a trained singing teacher. Options to take singing exam's with the "London College of Music" & "Trinity Guild".
To be able to enter music festivals such as the one held on Blackheath.

Examinations

All students are given the opportunity to take exams in their chosen dance subjects. The school follows the syllabus of the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA). The qualifications of the Association are approved by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority and the Further Education Funding Council.

Performances

The school takes part in various shows and represents KM FM at roadshows throughout the county. The Hazlitt Theatre provides the venue for the annual extravaganza of dance and musical theatre. All students are invited to participate.
