| The Mandy Ellen School of Dance was established over ten years ago, with small classes being taught at local venues in and around Maidstone
Since moving to our purpose built studios in the heart of Maidstone's artist quarter our pupil numbers have risen from 50 to 400, making us one of the largest dance schools in Maidstone, whilst still maintaining our reputation of being a family friendly school, encouraging our students aged 3 to 63 to learn new skills
Each year we pride ourselves on expanding our course syllabus to ensure we meet the needs of our pupils. This years new additions include our Hip Hop crew who in their first regional competition came in with 3rd place and not forgetting the newly formed "Maidstone Gems" cheer squad who bagged 2nd place in the South East Regional British Cheer Association competition held in Brighton
All of our students are given the opportunity each year to take dance examinations and to date our pass rate has been extremely high, but the emphasis has always been on fun, so examinations remain optional
Each year the dance school takes part in various competitions and festivals, not to mention at least three school shows at such venues as Mote Hall, The Corn Exchange and The Hazlitt Theatre, giving all of the students the opportunity to showcase their talents
Dance tours remain a firm favourite of our pupils having danced in Italy, France, Spain and last year in New York, taking part in workshops hosted by real stars of the West End and Broadway
This year we have some special events on the calendar, as well as our junior, senior and advanced shows, The Mandy Ellen Dancers are presenting "MEMORIES", on the 5th April, a charity show in support of the Heart of Kent Hospice. Tickets on sale from the office Lastly don't forget to wish all the performers continuing success with their quest to perform in this years finals of "Britains Got Talent"!!! We may need your vote!!!!!! |
